My grievances
Union news
Contract answers cite your real agreement — education, not legal advice.
✊
Ask the Contract is part of membership
Contract answers with real citations, the grievance builder, and meeting prep — $9.99/month or $89/year. Your incidents, evidence, and grievance records stay yours to read and export either way.
👋 Ask me anything about your contract. I'll answer using the National Master Agreement and your Supplement, and show you exactly where it says so.
📎 Keep the paper trail here
Once your steward and management sign the grievance form, snap a photo or attach the PDF. A signed copy in your pocket means it can't "get lost" in the office.
⚖️
The grievance builder is part of membership
It drafts grievance language grounded in your contract, with the right articles cited — $9.99/month or $89/year. Your saved grievances stay readable in the "My grievances" tab, membership or not.

Union Ally searched your contract for language that fits what you described. Tap to include. Your steward has the final say.
4️⃣ A few questions first
These are what a steward would ask before writing anything up. Answer what you can — every one you fill in makes the grievance harder to dismiss. Leave blank what you don't know.
✍️ Your grievance draft
Read every line and fix anything that isn't right. This goes on the record in your name.
Union Ally drafts from the facts you gave it and your contract — it doesn't add facts of its own. Your steward has the final word on what gets filed.

🛡️ Why log your day?
If management ever questions your time, this is your defense: your morning dispatch, what got added, ORION's own last-stop projection, when you actually made it back to the building — and the conditions you drove in. ORION never counts the drive back in, so the minutes past it and the miles over plan are your over-dispatch proof. Dated records beat memory every time.

🛡️ Your Weingarten Rights
If a meeting could lead to discipline, say this — then stop talking:
"If this discussion could in any way lead to my being disciplined or terminated, I respectfully request that my union steward be present at this meeting. Without representation, I choose not to answer any questions."
Before you walk into that office
Ask directly: "Could this meeting lead to discipline?" If yes — or they won't answer — request your steward before answering anything. You must request representation; it isn't automatic.
Be respectful, don't refuse to attend, and don't walk out. Answer only after your steward arrives. Never sign anything without your steward reading it first. "I don't recall" is better than guessing.
Your steward can ask for the subject of the meeting, speak privately with you first, object to confusing questions, and add information at the end. They are not a silent witness.
Except for cardinal offenses, discipline generally must be progressive — warning, suspension, then discharge — and issued within the timelines in your Supplement. Skipped steps or late notice are grievable.

📚 Why this matters
Your Local and Supplement decide which contract language applies to you. Union Ally uses them to answer with your agreement — not someone else's.
About you
They count differently: hire date for vacation & benefits, full-time seniority for bids & layoffs. Part-time? Leave the second one blank.
Your rate powers the calculators — penalty pay, back pay and settlements.
